AN INNOVATIVE SOLUTION
The Genesis Summer Reading Academy offers an innovative approach in the effort to reduce the amount of students who fall victim to the Achievement Gap in our local community. The Genesis Summer Reading Academy provides a unique reading instruction and intervention experience for McKinney-Vento/Title I students by providing an evidence-based curriculum and an abundance of human resources in licensed teachers, graduate interns, and high school student volunteers. Genesis students receive personalized instruction, supervised playtime, and enrichment opportunities on campus and in the greater community.
By working with a group of partners committed to the education of the most academically vulnerable children in our community, the Genesis Summer Reading Academy aspires to be a model other communities in Oregon can adopt in the near future.
